  I started playing Springwood for the first time in February this year. It's a pretty good layout with some very challenging holes. My best score out of 3 rounds there is 73 with a triple on the last. So the course can open itself up to some birdies, especially if you are hitting your driver well.
  
  My only frustration is the 2nd hole. For a par 5 I hit driver off the tee, then there is a crazy dogleg with huge trees guarding the dog leg and a 1 meter wide creek 100m short of the green. So I hit driver, 9 iron, sand wedge. You are never rewarded for hitting a great drive. You have to hit a dinky 9iron to land short of the creek but it seems too risky to have to hit over the dense, tall trees.
  
  What I loved most was my colleague and I were pretty much the only golfers out there on a sunny Sunday afternoon. So we flew around and had our best games yet.
  
  The bar staff are always friendly. They have a great veranda to have a beer after your round, overlooking the golf course.

  As far as small golf clubs go this one may be a gem and the place does appear to have been updated in recent times. Although well priced and generous the dinner meals are almost certainly from a packet and it's terribly obvious. The small bistro lounge was rather limited for space yet lacked atmosphere. There's a balcony offering good views over the course, during the day this would be a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink.
